Please explain TTL , Destination Net Unreachable (DNU), TTL expire in transit
apparently having windows 10 and fios this doesn't work properly (what I have). it only shows 2 hops and then it's complete. did some research and apparently it has been goin on for awhile and has to do on verizon side. all service works fine but you cant properly use tracert to track all the hops and information one might need.
You haven't explained that "Traceroute sends packets with TTL values that gradually increase from packet to packet, starting with TTL value of one. Routers decrement TTL values of packets by one when routing and discard packets whose TTL value has reached zero, returning the ICMP error message ICMP Time Exceeded. Proceeding in this way, traceroute uses the returned ICMP Time Exceeded messages to build a list of routers that packets traverse, until the destination is reached and returns an ICMP Echo Reply message."

I have been working in networking since 2009 and this is the first time someone has explained traceroute so well.

I ping local IP address but it continuously pinging infinitely, in your video it stopped when all steps to destination back to computer reached. Any explanation?

Is this how we limit the trace to 4 hops (for example)????? or is it when we run the trace hop at 4, and run the command, we are just seeing only 4 of the hops and it is still going to do all the hops to get to the end server?.. IF it does not limit it..is there a way we can bypass all of the hops and shorten the distance to the end server?. I called my ISP provider and they said there is nothing they can do on their end. I need to clear up the bottle necks and i dont know how..some of my ms were in the 200's.

One thing I've always had trouble with was where do your packets go once it leaves your gateways. I know it hits like a PoP before hitting your ISP, but who are these routers and where are they located?
