alecaddd!!
Did getting an M1 Macbook Pro cross your mind at all for this?
noctua fanboy ? 🙂 did you checked Noiseblocker fans ?
Great video! It's nice to see hardware reviews from a code perspective rather than gaming.
I got the same CPU and I've seen similar significant improvements in my code compilation times on Windows. I upgraded from an i7 6700k so the jump was huge!
Which keyboard do you use?
Best part of tech: when you build your pc and boot linux, you know you did a good job!! Full Amd is always the best choice for stock experience (i use fedora btw 😉
Woah 46 seconds to compile the Linux Kernel! I guess you're ready to become a Gentoo user ;).
Awesome.more power
While the 5700 Xt is a fine card, it is still midrange. Why not the top end radeon card instead? Your cpu is a high end AMD… Your GPU Will bottleneck the CPU. My 5700 XT is just paired with a ryzen 5 2600 to make a midrange system… with 32 GB of 3200 MHz DDR4 though but still midrange none the less … Edit … Ok after seeing the video it makes sense… The 5700 cards have a Low noise bios you can use for Very silent operation… Good choice With cooler, mainboard and powersupply and components in general…. I use nochtua, Asus and corsair in my build as well… I have multiple systems so I dont mind waiting for a compiler to finish
Will definetly be building a high end Linux all AMD system next year
Nice!
Hey Alex 👋 liquid cooling that beast of CPU would only make sense on a 360 radiator to keep the temperatures 60-70 under load. I have a Fractal Design case, also very modular but like you said, it’s a tower 😀 it’s insane that you can compile linux kernel in that short time! Thinking of my old core duo and 40 minutes 🙈
I think you built the perfect dev machine for what we have in the market right now (Linux or Win)!! If I had to build something I'd probably go the same way, I went full AMD in 2018 and I haven't had any problems beside an occasional small xorg flickering on Elementary (and it will be fixed for odin). Now I'm interesting to know what is your DEV setup like, it would be an interesting video.
Auguri per il nuovo computer!!
I want to build exact the same pc, thx! I hate that everything in a computer has rgb lights today 🤣
Perfect! Make more videos about ur setup plz😍
Nice, but…
Another Vala tutorial please 🙁
Would be nice to know how long those 45 minute compiles take on your new hardware.
The last computer I used liquid cooling. I won't do it again. A friend had pushed me to use liquid. I have not had any problems but it bothers me like the preinstalled little fan on your motherboard. (I will not buy a MB with any preinstalled small fans.)
Everything you did seems quite sensible though. My next build, when I need it some time in the future, will be a MB on a 2"x4" with no case. A huge air heat sink with perhaps a slowly rotating push and pull fan if it is needed. Not sure about super quiet PSUs though. I am so tired of cases…
Did you installed Windows for games?
Just unsubbed an un intrested. This is not what it was. Bye
Randomly bumping into you just made me laugh XD
I completely understand the thing about a tiny whining noise of the motherboard or water cool pump, I have the same requirements for the noise level 🙂
I'm noob .. I've a question why one need a powerful Linux pc???
I mean when on this configuration you can have a window's pc…
Thank you for this video. Decided to go with Silver N Case
