For this tutorial we will be employing the WP Mail SMTP plugin which can be observed utilizing the connection underneath:
With the plugin mounted and activated, we will go under Options, WP Mail SMTP, and find Gmail. For this we will need to have to set up a consumer ID, Consumer Magic formula and a URL in the ‘Authorized redirect URI’ fields. To commence filling that out we will want to go to the Google Developers Console website and create a new challenge. You can go to the website employing the backlink beneath:
We would advise naming the task a little something you can bear in mind really should you will need to obtain it once again and click the build button. Use the Permit APIs and Companies to go by way of the solutions and empower the Gmail API.
On the subsequent page, it ought to have a Make Credentials button in the leading right of the webpage. For the form of API, it will be a Gmail API and we will be calling the API from a Net browser(Javascript) and we will be accessing User data then we will ask what qualifications we will have to have.
In the Authorized Javascript origins, we will include the address of our internet site. For the Approved redirect URI, we will get that from the plugins options web page and click on refresh to bring up the consent display. For placing it up, we will use an Exterior, name it, add our email, and publish the app to get our info.
Duplicate the Consumer ID from Google to incorporate to your plugin’s options, click on performed, and edit the OAuth customer ID to get the secret key to incorporate in the plugin’s options and conserve the options to assure you never eliminate the info.
You can send out an additional electronic mail or for a further option, you can established up a different SMTP which would need your login information and facts which is far less protected.

Does anyone else get emails sent to their junk/spam instead of the main inbox? While using Google it seems only emails that are sent to gmail accounts make it into the main inbox, any idea why?
Thanks for this Video. please after I FOLLOWED YOUR GUIDELINES i still got Error 403: access_denied
The developer hasn’t given you access to this app. It’s currently being tested and it hasn’t been verified by Google. Please what do i do
Return path option is not available for me
thanks much
This is not a permanent solution. When using 'external' this is TEST for development and I found that it lasts maybe 6 months and you have to redo all these steps over again.
Hi, I tried this, the only thing I did differently was adding an already project created before to allow using my wp with Gmail. (so used that name instead of a new one)
So when I do click on "Allow plugins to send emails using your Google account"
I get this error:
"Error 403: access_denied
The developer hasn’t given you access to this app. It’s currently being tested and it hasn’t been verified by Google. If you think you should have access, contact the developer"
Then went to OAuth Api verifications FAQ and found:
"This brand verification process typically takes 2-3 business days."
So is this the problem, do I have to wait or I missed something else in configuration?
thanks again for your help.
at 1:49 the box that I am supposed to enter my "From Email" does not let me type anything. It says "Please first authorize the Gmail mailer below". I don't know what it means. Please help!

Hello, this is the only video I've been able to find that shows how to do this step – by – step. I've tried numerous times and keep running into the same problem. I get a message that says "Authorization Error" "Error 403: access_denied" "This developer hasn't given you access to this app. It's currently being tested and hasn't been verified by Google. If you think you should have access, contact the developer (myemailaddress@gmail.com)." Would you know right what the problem could be? Or do you do this kind of work for hire? Thanks
So helpful
Thank u
thanks for the video, however i keep receiving error when sending a test mail
An issue was detected.
This means your test email was unable to be sent.
Typically this error is returned for one of the following reasons:
– Plugin settings are incorrect (wrong SMTP settings, invalid Mailer configuration, etc).
– Your web server is blocking the connection.
– Your host is rejecting the connection.
