  • Hey party people! Got alot of emails about this video. You can easily add a social login to wordpress for free so users can register fast and not have to worry about login credentials, if this video helped you out, let me know in the comments below!

  • Can you make memberium & infusionsoft tutorial Darrell?

  • Thank you..

This was really helpful. I have had the "login press – social login" plugin for a long time (from an AppSumo deal of long ago). I could never understand how to get it to work.

I applied what you taught here for the 'nextend' plugin; to the "login press" plugin. And it worked. Before that, I could never tell what was critical and what was not (especially on the FB side). Thank you.

I still have the question (see below) of how to use any of these with a woo-commerce checkout; so that if people create an account in a woo checkout, they would have the option to use their FB or Google credentials.

    Thank you.. So helpful

Hey! Thanks for the great tutorial. I'd like to force people to have to go through a registration form to confirm their social media registration. I didn't manage to do so and ended up having new users without email for instance. How can I do this?

  • Is there a way for them to register/login by not using the default WP page? Like can we make our own page with the Google and Facebook continue buttons? Also, how do we know how many people have logged in and registered?

  • Alex Mathias says:

    Hey there!

I´m pretty curious about if this plugin works only on WP default login and register forms or if I also can aplly this feature to any other custom form with those functions (Like ACF, Crocoblock and so on)

  • Can the login be on a landing page?

Hey guys can anyone help me and tell me which plugin can I use to add the "Follow Us" on social media icons like the one he has up right on the home page? I can't find it

  • R C says:

Hey Darrel, great video, please keep them coming as they are really helpful for amateurs like myself.

I have an issue tho, when i click the “In development” button it comes up saying “Invalid Privacy Policy URL”. I added the URL to the Privacy policy on my page which is https, however there is a red X at the end of the box. When i hover over it, it says(in short) “URL returned a bad HTTP response code”.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Great video, but how do I get the Facebook and Goolge logins to show up on my website registration forms?

  • Is there anyway of undoing all of this? I've followed the steps until about 5 minutes or so into this video and now I can't get back into my website. It's just going onto the landing page that's on maintenance mode. I'm completely locked out.

Works 100% But I got an error when switching from development into live mode, was 'DataDeletion Callback URL'. To fix this read below as it worked for me, it is now Feb 2021, so they added a new option.

Quick fix is —- So in your Facebook App > User Data Deletion you need to choose the “Data Deletion Instructions URL” option, and you need to enter the URL of your Privacy Policy, maybe with an anchor pointing to the corresponding section. And that will be fine.

    Hi @liam0422

It seems Facebook recently modified their App policy. So starting from now, to make your App go Live, it is indeed required to enter either a “Data Deletion Callback URL” or a “Data Deletion Instructions URL”.

What you need to know is that, Nextend Social Login registers the WordPress accounts according to the details which are coming from the provider. So if a user would request deleting his/her Facebook details, that means the WordPress account deletion as well.

By deleting the WordPress account, all the details we stored from Facebook will be deleted.

So basically you need to handle this case the same way, as you would handle a normal account deletion requests.

To comply with GDRP ( GDPR – Art. 17 – Right to erasure ), in your Privacy Policy you should already have a section informing users the way they can delete their accounts ( e.g.: by sending a deleting request email to your email address where you handle these requests).

So in your Facebook App > User Data Deletion you need to choose the “Data Deletion Instructions URL” option, and you need to enter the URL of your Privacy Policy, maybe with an anchor pointing to the corresponding section. And that will be fine.

Note: Currently this step is missing from our Facebook – Getting Started page as these changes were only added recently, but I will update it, so in the next release users will also be informed about this.

    Thanks for informing us!

    Best regards,

    Laszlo.

from where will I be able to see and export the data like mail address, name etc???

  • Can this be used for woocommerce login for customers?

  • Hello Darrel, After clients login with fb or google , can they edit our post or something else?

  • Vicky Mate says:

    Hi Darrel,

I'm facing an issue with social login and re-captcha.

For website registration security I've enabled re-captcha (v2) on the website. Recently I enabled login with Facebook.

Now if someone wants to register using their Facebook a/c, they are getting an error saying captcha not solved. This captcha is not visible on the registration page. Because of this website registration is never completed.

On the contrary, if I remove the captcha then there are brute force attacks happening which are blocked to large extent by this captcha.

I want to disable captcha only for social logins and to work for website registration.

Can you show me the way how to solve this?

  • Tamas Szanka says:

Darrel, once the setup is done it is still not visible for customers (woocommerce). Either at checkout or in the "my account" how to make the social login options visible? this was not deatiled in the turtorial.
