It uses "zypper" from the terminal to install or remove software, I fell in love with this distro, you could use also Yast ,works with rpm packages🐧👍
Totally agree with your conclusion, If more people would use Linux, the IT world would be so much better. I've been through these choices myself and eventually ended up using Ubuntu 20.04 on my main laptop, Zorin lite on my old Acer AspireOne where my son plays his Pingu and Minetest games. Suse is on my distro wishlist but need to find time for that 😉
In fact it is also one of the oldest distros. I use it for about 20 years now. Back in the days it was sold on DVDs in a big box. The advantage is that you can use it on all platforms. A company would buy Suse, an individual can opt for the free OpenSuse on X86 or Arm. Installed with KDE it feels a lot like windows xp. The only problem I see is that yast is hidden in a menu. An advantage is also that most software is available for it via rpms, as long as you dont forget to select packman repository.
I think you could ask OpenSuse to make their official introduction video. Not many people are able to introduce a linux distribution in such a clear way as you do. Thx
nice video sir, but i think Ubuntu 20.04 better than it…
Brilliant, I use OpenSUSE since it still was SUSE 🙂
Informative as always.
i want to try kde but it seems to always break on me, i am a novice. i've been using opensuse leap for two years now with gnome. and its rock solid but i just want to have more customization
FreeBSD 😃😃
I tried to install and it wanted me to configure wifi and ethernet, that was to complicated for me so I dropped it. And went with Linux Lite.
OpenSuse is a beautiful Linux distro if rpmHell looks beautiful to you … 🙂
Chris is great at explaining computers.
I think Windows is so popular because of the standardization. every single software provider has to conform to those standards. were as with Linux, there really are not standards so the user friendliness is missing. 99% of the people want ease of use right out of the box. I myself prefer the flexibility you get from any open source operating systems.
OpenSuse Leap won´t let me keep my display setting. I was busy half an hour to change my keyboard settings. Really good begin, not!!!!
BTW I selected the KDE desktop
A bad day using Linux is better than a good day using Windows.
i use Manjaro arm kde plasma, on my raspberry pi 400 🙂
Apologies if this has already been covered but is this distro available to try from a USB memory stick with an option to do a full install later please?
OpenSUSE is my jam.
I been using OpenSUSE Tumbleweed for 2 weeks now and I'm loving it!
Nice video! I would want to know if open suse have issues with Nvidia like happens with fedora or kde neon. The possibility to select kde plasma desktop is fantastic! I agree with you, for a novel user, the excesive number of distros is a chaotic situation. Greetings!
when the linux is sus!
Omg so beautiful.
And what else you got at no extra charge… REVERSI!
THATS RIGHT! All these features and reversi for… how much do you guess? 500? A 1000? Even more?
NO! ITS FREE AND OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE!!! THATS RIGHT!!!
When the distro is sus
Noo not again
Your content are so nostalgic
Well I used it but it was too difficult to set my printer up. In Ubuntu or Fedora it was an easy task. After hours, I had the printer part working, but I could not figure out the scanner. But I guess if you are using it within a company you have professional grade drivers which make it really easy to do so.
LInux doesn't create the distro. Linux is basically a kernel that can work with the GNU project.
This operating system price in India
how can i set a wallpaper or change wallpaper on opensuse kde plasma ?
I like OpenSUSE because of snapper
very good vid I am installing open suse on an old hp a6700y pc as I broke it myself when I was young
It's sus tho…😳
